Most of the pearl trade is organised around sameness. Pearls are graded and matched until every bead in a strand is a twin of the one beside it. The ones that won't cooperate — lopsided, ridged, grown into shapes nobody planned — get set aside.
Those are baroque pearls. They're the only ones we're interested in.
So the pearl in your piece will not be identical to the one photographed. It will have its own outline, its own ridges, its own tilt.

Pearls are softer than stone. Wipe them with a soft dry cloth and do not soak them.
Keep it away from bleach and chlorine, and take it off before swimming or a long hot shower.
